This piece is special. It was created in a small mountain village in the high mountains of Portugal. I made it using local clay that contains many small stones. The textures is carved by hand.

The vase was fired for three days in the Sasukenei Smokeless Kiln using wood. The appearance of the piece changes from every angle due to the magic of the wood firing process. The wood burns to ash, which then flies around the kiln, settling on the pieces and creating a natural glaze and various effects on their surfaces.
